Terms and Conditions

DRAFT — pending legal review
This document has not yet been reviewed by our lawyers and is published while the platform is in pre-launch. Clauses marked in amber depend on decisions that have not been finalised. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Part A — Terms for Candidates
A1. About the service
CrewHall (the "Service") helps you build a professional profile through a voice interview with an AI agent, gives you indicative competency scores, and matches you with jobs published by employers on the platform.
The Service is free for candidates. Employers pay for access to the platform.
A2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
A3. Your account
You create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity on your account. Tell us at the contact address above if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
A4. The AI interview and your scores
The interview is conducted by an AI agent — you are speaking to an automated system, not to a person. We ask for your explicit consent before every interview session.
Competency scores and job matches are generated by AI and are indicative. They are not a hiring decision: hiring decisions belong exclusively to the human employer. The AI Transparency page explains which systems run, what data each one receives and what it does with it.
You may contest any score from within the app; each competency in your report is shown with the written reasoning behind its score. Under GDPR Art. 22(3) you have the right to human intervention in a decision made without a person; a contestation you record is stored with its reason and time.
A5. Eligibility verdicts
For some jobs the system automatically checks regulatory requirements — for example required certificates or minimum days of sea service — and produces an eligible or not eligible verdict. These checks are fixed rules applied to the documents and sea service you enter yourself; they are not an AI judgement about you. Documents you add are self-declared: independent verification is not available yet, so no document is treated as verified.
You can record a contestation of any verdict from Settings.
A6. Your data and your CV
You keep your rights over your CV and your content. You give us a limited licence to process it in order to provide the Service. Your CV is passed only to employers you apply to. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Please do not put unnecessary sensitive information, or other people's personal data, into your CV or your interview.
A7. Rules of use
You agree to give truthful information, not to impersonate anyone, not to upload unlawful content or content that infringes someone else's rights, and not to attempt to compromise the security of the platform.
Reviews about employers must be honest, based on real experience, and free of defamatory statements. Reviews are moderated by a person before publication and may be rejected.
A8. Availability and changes
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. The Service is provided "as is", as a product still in development, and may contain errors.
A9. Your data protection rights
You have the rights given to you by UK GDPR and, where it applies, EU GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, restriction, and rights relating to automated decisions. You can exercise most of them yourself in Settings — "Download My Data" and "Delete Account" — or by writing to the contact address above.
A10. Ending the agreement
You can leave at any time by deleting your account in Settings, which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.
A11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for employers' hiring decisions, for the accuracy of indicative scores, or for indirect loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
A12. Governing law and contact
Proposed governing law: England and Wales — to be confirmed by our lawyers, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. Contact: privacy@crewhall.co.
Part B — Terms for Employers (B2B)
B1. Scope
These terms govern employer access to CrewHall: publishing jobs, viewing matched candidates and contacting them.
B2. Company account
You confirm that you lawfully represent the company and are authorised to enter into this agreement. You are responsible for your users' accounts and for the proper use of candidate data.
B3. Pricing and payment
Access is paid. The pricing model, billing cycle, renewal, cancellation and refund policy, and the payment processor are not yet decided — they will be set out here and shown before purchase. We do not store full card details.
B4. Use of candidate data
Candidate data is made available to you solely for recruiting for your own positions. You agree to use it only for that purpose; to comply with UK GDPR and EU GDPR as a controller for your own further processing; not to resell, transfer or use it for unauthorised marketing; and to delete it when it is no longer needed.
The data protection roles between the platform and employers — joint controllers or controller-to-processor — are subject to a separate data agreement still under legal review, which will form part of these terms.
B5. AI scores and the hiring decision
Scores and matches are indicative and AI-generated. You must apply your own human judgement and must not make decisions based solely on an automated score. The system is a support tool, not a decision-maker.
You agree not to use the platform for discriminatory practices and to comply with applicable employment and anti-discrimination law.
B6. Job listings
You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of your listings, including that stated requirements are genuine and non-discriminatory. We may remove listings that breach the law or these terms.
B7. Confidentiality and security
Candidate data is confidential. You apply appropriate security measures and notify us without delay of any incident affecting it.
B8. Liability and indemnity
You are responsible for your use of candidate data and indemnify the platform against claims arising from your breach of these terms or of the law. The platform's liability is capped at an amount still to be agreed.
B9. Term, termination, governing law
The agreement runs for as long as you hold an active account or subscription. Governing law: England and Wales — to be confirmed. Contact: privacy@crewhall.co.
